In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
You will be responsible for complete Project Life Cycle i.e. starting from inputs analysis, Design & Engineering, model development, report generation, Testing & Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) followed by commissioning for PPC/MPPC control as per requirement.
- Execution, Modeling & Simulation development for PSCAD Version greater than 5, IVF compiler 15 and above, PSSE Ver. 34,35, Digsilent Power factory modeling independently and providing adequate inputs and review of these models and ability to read electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs)
- Should be able to do process testing, tuning of Solar/BESS/Hybrid plants PPC controls, and worked on industrial standards like IEEE, IEC, NEC, NERC MOD-026-01,02 & NERC MOD-027 and Grid codes.
- Collection and review of project inputs from customer/site through e-mail, kick off meeting, site survey. Conducting feasibility studies for customer connections offer to utility network/Plant. Harmonic current emission spectrum of the inverters.
- Developing of Generic and User defined models for PSS/E, Digsilent and PSCAD PPC models for Ovation system developed PPC control. Generation of GRID compliance study report and User manual report aligning for RMS, EMT studies – for the modelling and validation of PV PPC and Battery EMS Controller.
- Testing which will include test sequence and operational requirements along with a schedule summary. Where test and/or measurements are not possible due to limitations, plant and/or transmission operator disapproval, the analysis will be adjusted accordingly.
- Preparation of report that will include the dynamic model content necessary to reproduce the submitted model responses in the appropriate regional software (e.g. PSSE). Lead Ovation controls PPC design and testing for Solar/BESS/Hybrid greenfield and retrofit projects, Software engineering.
- Guiding team to implement controls from, functional diagrams or functional descriptions and doing Tie back simulation testing; modifications of control PPC Logics/SCADA. Preparation and guiding the team on IO list, Datasets and DBID.
- Distributing the engineering work to system integrators, Participation in kick-off meetings (KOM), internal and external meetings of projects; Engagement in customer demos, FATs, SATs, and commissioning activities
- Working closely with Ovation Green product team and work on MATLAB, PPC, Java script.
- Solar/BESS/Wind/Hybrid plant commissioning and testing along with Grid authority for commercial operation and model approval; Travel to project sites for site assignments, testing and tuning of various electrical control functions.
- The detailed modeling of the power component and other controllers relevant to the equipment being tested (e.g. the power electronic valves model to use while performing RTDS HIL testing of a given inverter controller, or the generator and exciter model to use while performing the HIL testing of a given generator’s AVR)

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Degree in Engineering ( Electrical, Power Engineering, EEE )
- Eight (8) to Fifteen (15) years of experience Design and engineering of PSCAD, PSSE, Power factory (Digsilent) Electrical Modelling of PPC/MPPC/EMS
- Ability to design and test PPC/MPPC controls for RE projects
- Excellent language and communication skills; both verbal and written
- Ability to travel for 20 to 30% as per the job requirements
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from groups of managers, clients, and customers
- Ability to interface with vendors & sub-contractors
- Should have good understanding of safety tools and gears, and safety guidelines of working at site
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Good knowledge Grid Compliance Guidelines for North America, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Asia
- Knowledge of electrical equipment like switchboards, generators, turbines, AVRs, motors, transformers, capacitors, CTs, VTs, feeders, meters, relays
- Knowledge in Fortran/C programming, MATLAB, SQL
- Have executed projects independently and done testing along with Grid Authority
