Role Summary
The Global Process Owner (GPO) for Master Data Domain is accountable for end-to-end design, governance and continuous improvement of a core business process & data across all regions and key enterprise systems publishing or consuming Customer data. The GPO defines global standards, data quality and compliance rules, drives harmonization and standardization across regions , functions and business units, ensuring alignment with Alcon’s strategic objectives and operational excellence. While focusing on Customer Master Data domain the GPO will be closely liaising with Product, Material, Vendor Process Owners.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Process Ownership & Governance
- Own and maintain global process standards, documentation, and lifecycle governance, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives , regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Define, monitor and enforce global policies, KPIs, and performance targets.
- Lead initiatives to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Ensure alignment with regional and local process owners (RPOs/LPOs) and other business initiatives.
- Govern global documentation and training materials.
- Lead change management efforts to support process adoption and maturity
- Chair the regular GPO governance forum, driving cross-functional alignment and decision-making.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Solicit, evaluate and prioritize enhancement requests from Regional and Local Process Owners (RPOs & LPOs) based on ROI, global impact, and strategic fit.
- Approve major system and process changes; escalate where necessary.
- Act as business approver for system/process enhancements and knowledge documentation
- Track ROI on process improvements and validate benefit realization (e.g., reduced cycle times, higher data accuracy).
- Lead or sponsor continuous improvement and transformation initiatives (e.g., FIT, Kaizen/Lean, Greenbelt projects) to remove bottlenecks, consolidate tools or increase automation
- Implement and optimize MDM tools and platforms
Stakeholder & Community Management
- Act as the single point of contact for CMD process matters; engage with regional teams, business units, and senior leadership.
- Build, lead, and engage a global network of RPOs and LPOs, facilitating regular knowledge‐sharing sessions.
- Chair regular forums with LPOs and RPOs to align on global requirements and share best practices.
- Promote global adoption of standardized processes and tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with IT, Digital Health, Business Stakeholders, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and other functional teams to ensure process integration and alignment, and to ensure new systems / modules comply with global process design.
- Serve as escalation point for unresolved issues from RPOs/LPOs.
- Align with Process Expert Leads and other GPOs on cross-functional impacts.
Key Measures of Success
- Adoption and adherence to global process standards and KPIs.
- Material improvement in data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
- Reduction in process deviations and local customizations.
- Timely and effective resolution of enhancement requests.
- Engagement and effectiveness of the RPO/LPO community.
- Effectiveness of Customer Master Governance at enterprise level
- Delivery of measurable improvements through transformation initiatives
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Operations, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in process and data ownership, operations, or transformation roles.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives.
- Med-Tech or other Life Science industry experience a plus
- Experience in setting-up Master Data Centre of Excellence a plus

- Deep understanding of end-to-end business processes.
- Deep understanding of Master Data and MDM principles
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical, data driven decision-making, and prioritization abilities.
- Change management and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to balance global standardization with local flexibility
- Strong process design and project management skills.
- Experience with CRM/ERP/MDM systems (e.g., SFDC, SAP, Oracle,Reltio, Informatica).
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional regional languages are a plus.
Time Commitment
Full-time with up to 5 days work from officeInternational travels applies (approx. 15-20% + ad hoc if required)
Work hours: 1 PM to 10 PM IST
