Summary of Position:

The Director of Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening financial performance, and fostering a high-performing organizational culture. This role oversees day-to-day hospital operations including administrative and support functions, ensures adherence to regulatory standards, leads multidisciplinary teams, and partners closely with medical, nursing, and administrative leaders to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Director of Operation will champion patient experience initiatives, streamline clinical operations in partnership with medical and executive leadership, and drive service excellence throughout the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages and oversees the portfolios of projects, programs, and all aspects of hospital operations to ensure smooth functioning across clinical, administrative, and support services.
• Contributes to strategic planning, service line development, capacity planning, and digital transformation initiatives to drive hospital growth.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and risk management protocols, including audits, emergency preparedness, and patient safety initiatives.
• Implements and monitors standardized procedures and policies, quality, and safety standards (NABH, Clinical Establishments Act, Biomedical Waste (BMW) Rules, and fire & safety norms) including cybersecurity safeguards and system upgrades and maintenance.
• Collaborates with finance teams to develop budgets, track operational performance, optimize resource utilization, and support revenue cycle operations and growth.
• Leads and empowers cross-functional teams, establish performance metrics, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Drive adoption and effective use of EMR/EHR, scheduling, billing, and patient engagement systems, ensuring high-quality digital documentation and data integrity.
• Collaborates with leadership to enhance the hospitals brand presence, support strategic marketing initiatives, and ensure consistent communication of service excellence.
• Seeks effective partnerships, opportunities, and innovative strategies and technology solutions for business expansion and development.
• Oversee risk identification, mitigation, and compliance programs, and lead crisis management efforts to ensure patient safety, regulatory adherence, and operational continuity.
• Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and contracts to maintain quality and cost efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

• Masters degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, or related field (MHA/MBA/PGDHM preferred).
• 5-10 years leadership experience in hospital or healthcare operations, with at least 3 years in a senior operational role.
• Strong understanding of Indian healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital management systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing large teams, complex operations, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
