Learn more at experianplc.com.Experian is seeking a visionary Director of Quality Engineering & Automation to lead our quality strategy, automation frameworks, and continuous testing initiatives across large-scale enterprise applications. This role will oversee teams in India and United States that are responsible for building high-impact test automation solutions, enabling engineering efficiency, and ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable software.The ideal candidate is an engineering leader who thrives at the intersection of software quality, automation, and cloud technology, particularly within AWS environments and who can partner closely with product and platform teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC. You will be reporting to a Vice President.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Lead the global Quality Engineering organization focused on test automation, quality metrics, and engineering productivity.
  • Develop and execute a long-term automation strategy that scales across Experian's enterprise platforms and services.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and DevOps leaders to define, measure, and improve product quality and release confidence.
  • Oversee implementation of automation frameworks for APIs, microservices, data pipelines, and UI across AWS-based systems.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for defect prevention, test coverage, and release readiness.
  • Build a high-performing team of Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs) and QA Managers.
  • Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure automation aligns with enterprise standards and regulated data requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software quality engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles managing automation teams.
  • Proven experience building and deploying test automation frameworks for enterprise-grade, cloud-based applications.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in AWS (ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation, S3, Redshift, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of modern software delivery (CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Solid experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence cross-functional stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Experience in highly regulated or data-intensive industries (e.g., Financial Services, Identity).

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
