Director, Client Services

This isnt a hands-off leadership roleyoull be deeply involved in building relationships, crafting account strategies, and ensuring that both client and internal teams are working toward shared success

Strategic Leadership & Client ExperienceOwn and grow a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring exceptional delivery and long-term strategic valueDevelop deep knowledge of client organizations, their goals, operations, and industry landscape
Onboard new clients into Parallel and ensure a seamless, aligned start to the relationship
Act as a key advisor to client stakeholders, guiding them through high-stakes decisions and evolving needs
Account Growth & Planning
Create and maintain strategic account plans to guide partnership growthWork closely with Business Development to expand Parallels reach within client organizations
Identify opportunities for new tracks of work and align resourcing, budget, and delivery plans accordingly
Negotiate contracts, scopes, and change orders in alignment with client needs and Parallels standards
Operational Oversight & Team Collaboration
Lead cross-disciplinary account teams across design, delivery, and client strategyCollaborate with team leads to ensure projects are well-resourced, on track, and delivering on expectations
Forecast and manage revenue across assigned accounts, balancing profitability with partnership health
Identify and mitigate project and relationship risks before they escalate
Thought Leadership & Culture Building
Co-create Parallels point of view on client services with the broader leadership teamMentor and support Client Services team members, fostering a culture of strategic thinking and collaboration
Represent Parallel externally, sharing our values and perspective with the broader design and tech community
What You Bring
8+ years in a client services, account leadership, or product strategy role within a digital design or development agencyDeep understanding of the product development lifecyclefrom discovery to launch and beyond
A strong point of view on how to build great client partnerships that result in meaningful work
Proven track record of growing complex client accounts and navigating large stakeholder groups
Strategic mindset with experience in financial oversight and revenue forecasting
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to confidently close complex deals
Clear, confident communicator who can adapt to any roomfrom design teams to boardrooms
Collaborative leader who values curiosity, empathy, and clarity in both thinking and execution
Willingness to travel as needed to build and strengthen client relationships
