Job Summary


The Digital Head for Renewable Energy Development plays a pivotal role in managing the digital infrastructure for renewable energy projects, with a focus on large scale solar power plants. This role oversees the digital systems for Renewable Power development business including energy metering, operations support systems (asset health monitoring, generation monitoring, employee tagging), robotic automation, engineering tools, and enterprise platforms (order management, material management, supply chain). This role shall also manage country-wide multi-site power development initiatives.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and optimize the digital infrastructure, including cloud, network, storage, and end-user computing, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  2. Manage digital systems for project planning & development covering Project Management, Engineering Systems, Construction systems for solar power plants and robotic automation to facilitate seamless integration and performance monitoring.
  3. Lead the development and deployment of digital solutions for energy metering, asset health monitoring, employee tagging, retail automation, and CRM.
  4. Configure and support business capabilities through design, system modelling, and energy simulation to enhance the efficiency and performance of RE deployments.
  5. Manage enterprise platforms, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), logistics management, and spare management, to support development and operations.
  6. Coordinate and manage country-wide multi-site renewable power development projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  7. Align and support in implementation of digital initiatives.
  8. Mentor and lead a team of digital professionals, fostering innovation and cross-functional collaboration.
  9. Collaborate with technology partners, service providers, and strategic partners to drive digital initiatives.
  10. Develop & deliver intelligence as a service to business (through advanced analytics) to gain insights into operational efficiency, asset performance, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  11. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and data security best practices.


Key Skills and Competencies:

  1. Proven experience in leading digital initiatives in the renewable energy or utilities sector.
  2. Strong knowledge of digital infrastructure, renewable energy technologies, and engineering tools.
  3. Proficiency in managing enterprise platforms and ERP systems.
  4. Experience in executing large-scale digital projects across multi-site RE power projects.
  5. A track record of identifying and implementing innovative digital solutions.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  7. Ability to utilize data for strategic decision-making.
  8. Effective collaboration with technology vendors and partners.
  9. Understanding of relevant industry regulations and data security compliance.


Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
  2. A minimum of 20 years of experience in digital leadership roles within the energy / renewable / telecom / utilities sectors.
  3. Relevant certifications and advanced degrees are a plus.
