Role: DevOps Lead

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced DevOps Manager with strong expertise in AWS and Azure, deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Gitops, Terraform, and modern CI/CD practices. This role requires hands-on ownership of infrastructure, automation, security compliance (SOC 2), and platform reliability, with basic application-level troubleshooting across Java, .NET, and Ruby to support infrastructure and platform operations.

Experience Requirements

• 12+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps / Cloudops / Platform Engineering

• Strong background supporting production-grade, highly available systems

Cloud & Infrastructure (Deep Expertise)

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable infrastructure on AWS and Azure

• Architect and operate multi-account / multi-subscription cloud environments

• Implement best practices for networking (VPC/VNet, routing, security groups, NSGs), IAM/RBAC, cost optimization, and governance

• Own the infrastructure lifecycle from provisioning to decommissioning

Kubernetes & Container Platform (Deep Knowledge)

• Design, deploy, and operate production-grade Kubernetes clusters

• Hands-on experience with cluster architecture and upgrades, workload scheduling and autoscaling, networking (Ingress, Services, CNI), and security (RBAC, Pod Security, Secrets)

• Strong troubleshooting skills for cluster-level and application-level issues

• Experience with managed Kubernetes services (EKS)

Gitops & Continuous Deployment (Deep Expertise)

• Strong hands-on experience with Gitops principles

• Deep operational knowledge of FluxCD or ArgoCD and multi-environment Gitops workflows (dev, staging, prod)

• Design and manage centralized Git repositories for infrastructure, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm/Kustomize

• Implement drift detection, reconciliation, and automated rollbacks

CI/CD & Workflow Orchestration

• Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines

• Deep experience with container build processes, image lifecycle management, and secure artifact handling

• Hands-on experience with Argo Workflows for batch jobs, data pipelines, and automation workflows

Infrastructure as Code (Deep Expertise)

• Strong expertise in Terraform

• Design and manage modular Terraform codebases with reusable modules and environments

• Hands-on experience with Terraform Cloud including workspaces, remote state, and policy enforcement (Sentinel preferred)

• Enforce IaC best practices, versioning, and code reviews

Containers & Runtime

• Deep understanding of Docker

• Optimize Docker files for security, performance, and minimal image size

• Manage container registries and image lifecycle

Reliability & SRE (Basic to Intermediate)

• Apply basic SRE practices including monitoring and alerting, incident response and RCA, and understanding of SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets

• Support platform reliability and availability targets

Security & Compliance (SOC 2)

• Hands-on experience supporting SOC 2 compliance

• Implement and manage access controls, audit logging, and change management evidence

• Collaborate with security and compliance teams during audits

• Ensure infrastructure aligns with security best practices

Application-Level Troubleshooting (Basic Support)

• Basic troubleshooting skills in Java, .NET, and Ruby

• Ability to read logs, debug startup and configuration issues, and support infrastructure-related application failures

• No feature development required; platform-level support only

Required Technical Skills

Cloud Platforms: AWS (EC2, EKS, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS, CloudWatch) and Azure (VMs, Azure AD, VNets, Storage, Monitor)

DevOps & Platform: Kubernetes, GitOps (FluxCD / ArgoCD), Terraform & Terraform Cloud, Docker, Argo Workflows

Programming & Scripting: Basic troubleshooting knowledge of Java, .NET, Ruby, strong scripting skills in Bash or Python

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and debugging mindset

• Ownership-driven and proactive

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Dev, Security, Compliance)

• Excellent documentation and communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid environments

• Exposure to policy-as-code and security automation
