Position Summary

The Software Development Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions tailored to the company's insurance operations. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, architecting scalable and efficient software systems, and ensures the reliability and security of applications. They contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis to deployment and ongoing support. They stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to the insurance domain.

What will your job entail?

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Automate testing, security scans, and deployment workflows.
  • Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Ansible.
  • Ensure environments are consistent, scalable, and reproducible.
  • Deploy, manage, and optimize workloads in Azure/AWS/GCP.
  • Work with Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE) or Docker to orchestrate containerized applications.
  • Develop scripts and automation workflows in Python, PowerShell, or Bash to improve operational efficiency.
  • Implement observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Azure Monitor) for proactive monitoring and alerting.
  • Integrate security practices into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps).
  • Ensure compliance with governance and security policies.
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure issues.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud, or System Administration roles.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • CI/CD tools: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Cloud services: Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP.
  • IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, or ARM Templates.
  • Container orchestration: Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Scripting: Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, Linux/Windows systems, and version control (Git).
  • Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent).
