Desktop Support Engineer

Role Overview

Desktop Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

IT Asset Management:
Maintain an updated inventory of all IT hardware and software assets
Ensure proper tagging, tracking, and auditing of IT equipment
Handle IT procurement and coordinate with vendors as required
Desktop & User Support:
Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and applications
Respond to user queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
Network Support:
Assist in maintaining and troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity
Support Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and basic firewall configurations
Coordinate with the network team for escalated issues
Asset Maintenance:
Perform regular maintenance and health checks of all IT systems
Ensure timely upgrades, antivirus updates, and system backups
Manage AMC and warranty tracking for IT equipment
Problem Solving & Documentation:
Identify recurring issues and suggest permanent solutions
Maintain detailed documentation of support requests, fixes, and procedures
Provide training and guidance to users when needed

Requirements:

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field
1–3 years of experience in desktop support or IT administration
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, basic networking, and IT hardware
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
