Job Description

Job Summary:

Desktop Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Desktop Support & Maintenance

Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripherals (printers, scanners).
Perform OS installations, patching, and updates (Windows, macOS, Linux as applicable).
Manage antivirus deployment and endpoint security tools.

User Support

Provide L1 & L2 support to end-users for hardware/software issues.
Handle incidents, service requests, and escalations via ticketing tools (e.g., ManageEngine).
Assist with user account management in Active Directory, Office 365, etc.

Hardware & Software Management

Deploy and maintain standard desktop images using tools like SCCM, Intune, or similar.
Manage software installations, licensing, and compliance.

Networking & Connectivity

Troubleshoot basic network issues (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN).
Configure and support network printers, shared drives, and file servers.

System Monitoring & Documentation

Monitor system performance and maintain asset inventory.
Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Security & Compliance

Ensure adherence to IT security policies.
Support implementation of data protection and backup solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3 - 4 years of experience in desktop support or IT infrastructure management.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Office 365.
Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN).
Good understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
Excellent troubleshooting skills and customer service orientation.
