Job description:

Design Leadership

• Lead the conceptualization and development of interior design solutions tailored to renovation projects.
• Translate client briefs into compelling interior concepts, material boards, space plans, and mood boards.
• Maintain a strong understanding of design trends, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and styling techniques.
• Ensure all designs reflect a high level of creativity, innovation, and functional excellence.

Project Management

• Plan and manage multiple renovation projects from start to finish.
• Define project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate scheduling with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Monitor project progress, address delays or deviations, and ensure timely delivery.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor junior designers, draftsmen, and assistants within the design team.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, MEP consultants, and other specialists involved in the project.
• Work closely with procurement and site management teams to ensure alignment between design and execution.

Site Supervision & Execution Oversight

• Visit sites regularly to ensure construction and renovation work aligns with approved designs.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot design-related issues on-site.
• Approve mockups, samples, and finish quality; supervise installation of design elements such as fixtures, finishes, and furniture.

Client & Stakeholder Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding design matters.
• Present design proposals, revisions, and material boards in client meetings.
• Manage expectations, gather feedback, and ensure client satisfaction at all stages of the project.

Vendor & Contractor Coordination

• Liaise with contractors, carpenters, painters, electricians, and other trades to ensure smooth coordination.
• Oversee procurement of materials and furnishings, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Negotiate pricing, timelines, and warranties with vendors and suppliers.

Technical Documentation & Design Outputs

• Oversee the preparation of detailed design drawings, 3D renders, and working drawings.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of layouts, elevations, sections, and technical details.
• Review and approve BOQs, material specifications, and finishing schedules.

Budget Management & Cost Control

• Create and manage project budgets; track actual spend vs projected.
• Optimize design decisions for cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality or creativity.
• Prepare cost estimates, value engineering proposals, and financial reports for clients.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all designs comply with building codes, safety regulations, accessibility standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Maintain high-quality standards throughout the design and construction lifecycle.
• Conduct design audits and post-project evaluations.

• Strong sense of aesthetics and spatial awareness
• Expert in space planning, color theory, lighting design, and materials
• Proficiency in software like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Lumion, Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience in working with modular furniture, custom cabinetry, and sustainable design

• Strong leadership, organizational, and time management abilities
• Excellent verbal and visual communication; ability to present ideas clearly to clients and teams
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and quality control
