Job Summary:

Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for fabrication components and assemblies.
• Interpret customer requirements, technical specifications, and standards to produce accurate designs.
• Collaborate with the production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Prepare BOMs (Bill of Materials) and fabrication documents for production.
• Optimize designs for material utilization, manufacturability, and welding/fabrication efficiency.
• Conduct design validation through simulations, stress analysis, and prototyping where required.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from shop floor and QC teams.
• Support product development, prototyping, and R&D initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in design within the fabrication or metalworking industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor).
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, welding symbols, GD&T, and fabrication processes.
• Experience in working with steel structures, frames, and machine enclosures is a plus.
• Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, AWS, ISO).
• Good communication and team collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in ERP systems for BOM and drawing release processes.
• Working knowledge of FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS) is an advantage.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
