Role: Deputy Vice President – Cluster Sales (India)
Department: Retail Sales & Distribution
Location: Pan India (Cluster Specific)
Reporting To: Senior Vice President – Retail Sales
Job Purpose Lead and drive cluster-level sales performance for premium card acquisition, co-brand partnerships, insurance cross-sell, and digital sourcing initiatives. Ensure achievement of annual MOU targets, optimize cost of acquisition, enhance productivity, and strengthen stakeholder relationships while ensuring adherence to compliance and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:-
1. Business Growth & MOU Achievement Deliver 1.5–3 lakh new accounts annually across the cluster with desired channel and portfolio mix.
Drive sales of Premium Cards (3K & 5K variants) to boost profitability.
Achieve cross-sell targets for insurance and other financial products.
Monitor cost of acquisition, enhance people productivity, and ensure cost optimization across business heads.
2. Retail Sourcing & Co-brand Partnerships Expand retail sales footprint in airports, premium malls, and organized retail outlets.
Drive face-to-face sourcing and ensure seamless fulfillment of customer applications.
Explore high-volume sourcing opportunities at railway & metro stations.
Build and manage strategic co-brand partnerships (BPCL, Landmark, Tata, Nature’s Basket, etc.).
Ensure strong partner relationships and smooth cluster-level operations.
3. Stakeholder & Customer Management Streamline complaint management and ensure customer escalations are resolved within TAT.
Handle VIP and sensitive cases with due care.
Partner with WE team to ensure effective NFTE lifecycle management.
Ensure policy adherence, scorecard implementation, audits, and corrective action for compliance.
4. People Leadership & Team Management Drive FTE & NFTE hiring across locations to meet cluster targets.
Identify and groom critical talent, build second-line leadership.
Mentor, coach, and train sales teams to maximize performance.
Conduct regular reviews, team connects, and extensive travel across territories.
5. Strategic Projects & Digital Initiatives Lead adoption of digital sourcing initiatives (BRE Digital Sourcing, instant approval systems).
Facilitate transition of extended sales teams through training and enablement.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement corrective actions.
6. Productivity & Business Development Set and monitor benchmark productivity metrics for FTE/NFTE teams.
Maximize productivity across open market, retail, and co-brand channels.
Explore new sourcing avenues in tier-2 and tier-3 cities for sustainable growth.
Track competition strategies and implement corrective measures proactively.
7. Compliance & Governance Ensure cluster operations comply with regulatory and organizational policies.
Partner with compliance teams to drive adherence across processes and reporting.
Skills & Competencies Required Technical / Functional Strong expertise in retail sales, credit cards, co-brand partnerships, and insurance cross-sell.
In-depth knowledge of sales strategy, channel management, and digital sourcing.
Proven track record in business development and market expansion.
Proficiency in budgeting, cost optimization, and variance analysis.
Strong understanding of compliance, regulatory, and audit frameworks.
Leadership / Behavioral Strategic thinker with high execution focus.
Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse, and geographically spread teams.
Strong skills in coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
Excellent stakeholder management & relationship-building capabilities.
Customer-first approach with effective escalation handling.
High resilience, adaptability, and ability to thrive under pressure.
Education & Experience:-MBA/PGDM in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management.
12–18 years of experience in retail banking, financial services, or consumer credit industry.
Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large sales teams.
