Responsibilities

As the Deputy Manager - Planning, you will be entrusted with a wide range of responsibilities aimed at driving project success and operational efficiency in alignment with Adani’s strategic priorities:
  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans including defining scopes, setting milestones, and allocating resources effectively to meet timelines and budget constraints.
  • Coordination & Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure integrated planning and smooth project execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to project schedules, resource availability, and external factors; formulate mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery.
  • Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Continuously track project progress against plans, prepare detailed reports and dashboards for senior management highlighting key performance indicators, bottlenecks, and corrective actions.
  • Resource Management: Assess resource requirements including manpower, materials, and equipment; coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely availability.
  • Budget Control: Monitor project expenditures in relation to planned budgets, identify variances, and support cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance planning processes by leveraging industry best practices, new technologies, and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure planning activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements specific to the power and energy sector.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior planning engineers and coordinators, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication channels with clients, vendors, and government bodies, ensuring transparency and timely resolution of issues.
  • Strategic Input: Contribute to long-term capacity planning and strategy development to support Adani’s vision of expanding its footprint in renewable and conventional energy.

Qualifications

Education Qualification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field) is mandatory.
  • MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management or Business Management is desirable.
Certification Required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Certifications in planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project will be advantageous.
  • Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) certification relevant to the Power/Energy industry is a plus.
