Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategic Roles & Responsibilities:-

  • Mobilization, coordination, execution, and resolution of issues with the site team and Contractors awarded with the job. Lead the Site team towards successful execution.
  • Preparation of detailed schedule of works with front wise detailing of activities in-line with original plan and in discussion with Planning Head at HO and implementation of the schedule on field
  • Monitoring progress of work (MIS) with reference to the schedule, identify gaps, mitigate the gaps to meet the timelines and quality aspects.
  • Ensure execution through highest standards of quality as per detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Preparation of risk register envisaging risk before the start of the project and during execution, updating the risk register from time to time and actions on the risk mitigation from time to time, Review of risk register.
  • Preparation of claim register, updating the risk register from time to time and actions on the risk mitigation from time to time, Review of risk register.
  • To receive the invoices from the contractor, timely certification and forward for payment.
  • Preparation of list extra items with quantity based on GFC drawings issued to the site, amendments, if any, and pursue with HO for approvals and needful.
  • Flagging out the issues in advance related to site and contractor as appropriate which need HO intervention.
  • Envisage any kind of execution risk related to timeline, cost overrun, contractual disputes etc., appraise PD and propose solutions to mitigate the risk/s.
  • Coordination with all teams and stake holders on progress, pending issues and get solutions.
  • Execute works to the highest level of safety standards and company HSE policy.
  • Administration of contract at site for all contractual conformances as well as statutory rules, laws and by laws by the contractor and also responsible for all Statutory approval.
  • Ability to mobilize resources if the contractor fails to perform.
  • Should be capable of taking independent decisions so that timely completion of project.
  • To ensure work is completed within budget.
  • Coordination with Engineering Team and close the drawing issues if any.
  • Coordination with Techno commercial team to clear the Purchase order related issues.
  • Coordination with Engineering team for BOQ RFQ & Proposal Preparation.
  • Responsible for Contractor billing certification & payments on time. Site and need based initiation of NFA for certain. changes/requests/modifications etc.

Operational Responsibilities:-

  • Ensure the implementation of company laid systems /processes at site including documentation of DPR, WPR, MPR, Reconciliation reports, Quality reports, safety reports, GRN’s etc.
  • Implementation of innovative construction methods, application of knowledge gained from the other similar facilities to reduce execution timelines and save cost and also responsible for Value Engineering.
  • Monitoring and follow up for deployment of resources for execution as per requirement including machinery, manpower, materials, etc. and provide healthy work environment at site.
  • Sound knowledge of Construction and construction resource functioning, throughout and resource optimization.
  • Planning of training needs and succession planning for growth of the team.

People Management :-

Identifying team development need of the site execution team through:-
  • Identifying training need of the individual team members.
  • Knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Motivation and guidance to the site execution team

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment’s, metallic/nonmetallic piping, structural fabrication erection principles, construction methodologies, and erection techniques
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing mechanical erection in the power sector
  • Experience in managing large-scale projects with a focus on quality, safety, and cost control

Non-Negotiable Skills

  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Extensive experience in mechanical equipment’s, metallic/nonmetallic piping, structural fabrication erection works.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education Qualification

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
