Role Overview

The Dean (Management) will provide academic leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for all management programs. The role focuses on curriculum enhancement, faculty development, quality assurance, industry collaboration, research promotion, and overall student development within the Management Department.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Academic Leadership

• Provide vision and direction for management programs.

• Develop academic policies, program structures, and long-term departmental plans.

Curriculum & Program Development

• Oversee the design, revision, and execution of curriculum for management programs.

• Ensure that curricula are industry-relevant and globally competitive.

• Promote project-based learning, case studies, experiential pedagogy, and interdisciplinary integration.

Faculty Management

• Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty in the Management Department.

• Support faculty in research, consultancy, and publications.

• Facilitate faculty development through training programs, workshops, and conferences.

Quality & Accreditation

• Lead and coordinate efforts for accreditation with NAAC, NBA, and other regulatory bodies.

• Work with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to maintain academic quality standards.

• Ensure continuous improvement in teaching-learning processes, student outcomes, and departmental performance.

Research, Innovation & Industry Linkages

• Promote research culture among faculty and students.

• Establish partnerships with industry, corporate bodies, and academic institutions for internships, projects, and placements.

• Support the development of management-focused centers such as entrepreneurship or business analytics units.

Student Engagement & Development

• Oversee student academic growth, mentoring, and career guidance.

• Organize guest lectures, seminars, workshops, business competitions, and student-led initiatives.

• Collaborate with the Placement Cell to enhance student employability.

Administration & Governance

• Participate in institutional committees including Academic Council and Board of Studies.

• Manage departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and infrastructure.

• Ensure compliance with AICTE, university, and government regulations.

Community Outreach & Extension

• Promote community outreach, consultancy projects, and extension activities.

• Facilitate certificate programs, executive education, and continuing education courses.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. in Management or a related field

• Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) with a strong academic background

• Minimum 10 years of academic or industry experience, preferably with leadership exposure

• Strong research profile with relevant publications and academic contributions

• Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills

Reporting & Relationships

• Reports to: Senior College Leadership.

• Works closely with:

– Deans

– Heads of Departments

– IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell)

– Placement / Career Development Cell

– External academic and industry partners
