Data Scientist

Role Summary

The Data Science Team generates cutting-edge insights and strategy recommendations to our business clients using our unique dataset and advanced machine learning and statistics technologies. We scale these techniques to work over thousands of companies and millions of surveys.

As a data scientist, you will:

 Partner with Product, Insights, Strategy, and Engineering teamsto understand our client needs and our competitive edge and deliver scalable and accurate solutions.

 Be a resident expert in statistics, data science, machine learning, and the design of statistical experiments.

 Model technical excellence

 Understand the team mission, propose new initiatives and metrics, and be able to advocate for your suggestions.

 Maintain communication with our cross-functional partners and be able to present your findings effectively to a range of audiences and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

 BS in Statistics, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics

 3+ years of work experience in Statistics, Data Science, Quantitative Analytics or Tech

 Experience using data science and statistical analysis to impact product strategy as a part of a cross-functional product development team.

 Experience managing the technical execution of your projects/tasks, including prioritization and planning of multiple parallel workstreams, understanding critical paths, and managing competing priorities.  Experience collaborating with other data scientists and technical analysts.

 Experience documenting your work, implementing best practices and SOPs and bringing forward process improvements on your team.

 Experience using SQL, Python or R, and visualization software to connect to data, conduct exploratory analyses, clean and restructure data, engineer new features, fit models and diagnose performance, and produce visualizations and other outputs.

 Experience with web-based development and visualization platforms like Jupyter notebooks and Tableau Cloud.

We would also love it if you had any of these:

 MS/PHD in Statistics, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics

 Experience in Survey Statistics

 Experience in Exploratory Data Analysis

 Experience in Time Series Analysis

 Experience using consumer data and market research data sources

 Record of writing and optimizing code in a production environment

 Excellent communication skills: able to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audiences from reports to peers to executives and to non-technical audiences
