About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Data Engineer + Associate Instructor to deliver engaging instruction in data visualization, machine learning, and AI concepts, with a strong emphasis on Python programming. You will guide learners in building skills to visualize, analyze, and model data, preparing them for real-world applications in data science and AI. Key Responsibilities
- Course Development & Delivery: Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive lectures and hands-on sessions for Data Visual Analytics and Database Management Systems (DBMS), covering relational models, SQL, NoSQL, normalization, database design, and performance optimization.
- Curriculum Innovation: Continuously update course content by incorporating the latest trends in database technologies, data engineering, cloud databases, and visual analytics to ensure industry relevance.
- Practical Learning & Capstone Projects: Build and guide real-world capstone projects that integrate database systems with data visualization and AI/ML applications, enabling students to solve real industry problems.
- Technical Instruction & Mentorship: Teach advanced database topics such as query optimization, database security, data warehousing, and cloud-based database platforms. Provide mentorship and troubleshooting support during labs and practical exercises.
- Assessment & Student Success: Develop assessments including quizzes, tests, and project evaluations. Offer constructive feedback and personalized mentorship to support student growth and academic excellence.
- Industry Engagement & Exposure: Share practical insights into industry-standard tools and technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, Tableau, and Power BI. Organize workshops, hackathons, and webinars to promote experiential learning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with instructors, departments, and curriculum designers to integrate database concepts into multidisciplinary projects and adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles.
- Career Guidance & Professional Development: Guide students on career paths in database management, data engineering, data science, and analytics, aligning learning outcomes with industry expectations.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of professional or teaching experience in Database Systems, Data Engineering, or Data Analytics.
- Strong expertise in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL systems (MongoDB, Cassandra), including concepts such as indexing, normalization, clustering, and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, or T-SQL, with hands-on experience in database design and optimization.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Familiarity with cloud database platforms, including AWS RDS, Azure SQL, and Google Cloud Spanner.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS Certified Database Specialist) are a plus.
- Ability to explain complex database and data engineering concepts in a clear, structured, and engaging manner.
- Comfortable teaching both theoretical foundations and hands-on, real-world database implementations.
