Summary / Objective

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to oversee and manage data hall fit-out projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. This role demands a professional with extensive experience in data center construction and a proven ability to coordinate complex projects with multiple stakeholders.This opportunity is for a new client located in

Pune, India

, where we are aiming to establish and expand our local team. More details about the client and the project will be shared at a later stage of the recruitment process.

Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Management: Manage all phases of data hall fit-out projects, including initiation, planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring strong, proactive communication, managing expectations, and maintaining high levels of satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Liaise effectively with all stakeholders, including internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and facility managers.
  • Budget and Financial Control: Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project budgets. Track all costs, approve invoices, and implement cost-control measures to ensure the project remains within financial targets.
  • Schedule Management: Create, maintain, and manage comprehensive project schedules. Proactively identify critical path items, potential delays, and implement strategies to mitigate them and keep the project on track.
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Implement and enforce rigorous quality control processes. Ensure all work complies with project specifications, industry best practices, relevant codes, and client requirements.
  • Risk Management: Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify potential project threats. Develop, maintain, and execute effective risk mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate the project team, fostering a collaborative environment. Ensure clear delegation of tasks and that all team members and subcontractors are aligned with project goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and progress reports. Provide regular, detailed status updates to senior management and the client, highlighting progress, challenges, and milestones.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, from technical staff to executive clients.
  • Project Management Expertise: Strong command of project management methodologies, with proven skills in budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and contract management.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of data center infrastructure and critical systems, including but not limited to:
    • Power Distribution (UPS, PDU, RPP)
    • Mechanical Cooling (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units)
    • Structured Cabling (Fiber, Copper)
    • Raised Floor Systems and Space Planning
    • Fire Detection and Suppression Systems
    • Security and Access Control Systems
  • Collaboration and Independence: Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of a integrated, collaborative team.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities to swiftly identify problems, evaluate solutions, and implement effective resolutions to keep the project on course.

Education And Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of direct project management experience within the data center construction industry or complex commercial construction environments.
  • Industry Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing data hall fit-out projects, with experience in colocation facilities or enterprise data centers being highly desirable.
  • Certifications:
    • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is strongly preferred.
    • Additional relevant certifications (e.g., RCDD, BICSI DCDC, CDCDP, LEED) are a significant advantage.
  • Employment History: A stable employment history demonstrating a consistent record of delivering projects successfully from start to finish.
