Overview

The Creative Production Manager leads the development of high-quality visual and multimedia content across SikhRI's initiatives. From ideation to delivery, this role manages a team of video editors and graphic designers to bring campaigns, courses, publications, live digital events, and presentations to life.

This position combines creative direction, production oversight, motion/video expertise, and project execution—balancing aesthetic excellence with brand integrity, timeline discipline, and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate is a strategic visual storyteller with demonstrated experience in graphic design, motion graphics, and video production. They can design and direct, review and refine, write briefs, manage contractors, and oversee end-to-end production while upholding SikhRI's brand voice and values.

This role reports directly to the MarCom Director and collaborates closely with Marketing, Content, and Research teams.

Key Responsibilities

Content Asset Development

  • Translate content briefs into compelling creative deliverables (e.g., reports, key visuals, social graphics, motion graphics, and campaign videos).
  • Collaborate with researchers, writers, editors, and subject matter experts to ensure creative accuracy, nuance, and integrity of SikhRI's educational content.
  • Create and refine scripts, storyboards, style frames, and visual treatments for multimedia assets.
  • Develop clear creative briefs for each asset or campaign, including messaging, visuals, tone, and intended audience.
  • Convert complex educational content into accessible visual narratives across print, digital, and video formats.
  • Lead the creative direction and feedback process for all assets, ensuring aesthetic quality, consistency, and coherence across all elements.

Team Leadership

  • Manage a team of freelance and/or in-house graphic designers, illustrators, video editors, motion designers, and production contractors across time zones.
  • Assign work, track progress, and provide clear, constructive feedback at all stages of production.
  • Mentor team members with empathy and curiosity, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth, open dialogue, and creative problem-solving.
  • Ensure adherence to SikhRI's brand voice, visual identity, and production standards.

Cross-Department & Vendor Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to align assets with campaign goals, audience insights, and platform-specific needs.
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Manager and Website Team to finalize delivery formats and optimize platforms.
  • Ensure timely content validation with researchers, content leads, and subject matter reviewers.
  • Lead creative development for digital event assets and coordinate with streaming or event vendors to ensure high-quality execution of online sessions.
  • Manage relationships with creative contractors, printers, studios, and production vendors as needed.
  • Support contract scoping and vendor onboarding with clarity and organization.

Project, Workflow & Budget Management

  • Oversee production workflows and asset pipelines across multiple campaigns, programs, and long-form initiatives.
  • Maintain production calendars, enforce timelines, and flag risks early to avoid bottlenecks.
  • Track project budgets, production costs, and vendor invoices to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement and refine production processes that streamline workflows and maintain consistent quality.
  • Contribute to basic ROI insights by assessing the performance of creative deliverables in collaboration with Marketing.

Hands-On Creative Execution

  • Step in when needed to produce, edit, or finalize high-quality video, audio, motion graphics, and static design assets.
  • Support creative production for video, podcast, event, and social channels.
  • Ensure all content—print, digital, motion, and live event assets—meets SikhRI's standards of clarity, integrity, and excellence.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in multimedia production with a portfolio showcasing strong graphic design, motion design, and video editing work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop (Canva experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience producing long-form and short-form videos, motion graphics, static digital assets, live event graphics, and print collateral.
  • Strong background in design thinking, visual storytelling, layout systems, typography, color theory, editing, and motion design principles.
  • Experience with sound design and audio mixing for video or podcast content.
  • Excellent understanding of social media formats, storytelling styles, and platform trends.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, teams, and deadlines.
  • Ability to write creative briefs and guide others through iterative development.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and version control.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-functional and remote team collaboration.
  • Previous experience in nonprofit, educational, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
  • Familiarity with Sikh teachings and the sensitivity required for Sikh educational content is a strong asset.
  • Portfolio and demo reel required for consideration.

Nice to Have

  • Emmy nomination or similar recognition.
  • Experience directing animated or hybrid multimedia content.
  • Working knowledge of accessibility guidelines in digital media.
  • Familiarity with SikhRI's work, audience segments, and editorial voice.
  • BS/BA in Motion Graphics, Video Production, Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.

Work Environment

  • Stationed in Mohali, with virtual collaboration across global teams.
  • Requires flexibility to coordinate with North American time zones.
