Role Overview:
The Contract Executive/Manager will manage the complete contract lifecycle — from drafting and negotiation to execution, compliance, and performance monitoring. The role requires a strong engineering background combined with commercial, legal, and project management understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Drafting & Review
- Draft, evaluate, and negotiate engineering, procurement, construction, and service contracts.
- Prepare contract terms, technical specifications, and scope-of-work documents.
- Ensure all engineering-related clauses align with project specifications and company standards.
- Technical & Commercial Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and legal departments.
- Interpret engineering drawings, BOQs, and technical requirements to ensure contractual clarity.
- Support tender/bid reviews and provide contract-related inputs during project planning.
- Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify technical, commercial, and contractual risks; propose mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct contract audits and ensure governance requirements are met.
- Contract Administration
- Maintain and update contract records, variations, amendments, and documentation.
- Monitor key contractual milestones — deliverables, KPIs, timelines, payments, claims.
- Support the preparation of contract summaries and dashboards for management.
- Negotiation & Stakeholder Management
- Lead negotiations with contractors, vendors, and partners.
- Act as a bridge between internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Provide technical and contractual guidance across projects.
- Claims & Dispute Handling
- Handle contract-related claims, variations, and change orders.
- Assist in dispute resolution with vendors or subcontractors in coordination with legal and project teams.
- Process Improvement
- Develop standard templates, engineering contract checklists, and process guidelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in contract management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) Mandatory.
- Master’s degree (MBA, Engineering Management, or related) is an added advantage.
Experience
- 8+ years of experience in contract management within engineering, construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, EPC, infrastructure, or similar industries.
- Strong background in technical contract review and engineering documentation.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project schedules.
- Familiarity with EPC, BOQ pricing, SLAs, change orders, claims, and contract law basics.
- Proficient in MS Office, contract management software, and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (ISO, ASTM, API, etc.) is a plus.
