Construction Accountant

We are a dynamic real estate third-party construction company based in the United States specializing in providing construction services primarily for hotels and residential projects. We are seeking a proactive and organized Construction Accountant to join our company.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit draw requests to banks (familiarity with AIA forms G702 and G703 is preferred).
• Maintain a detailed log of all company and project-related transactions, including storing, organizing, and labeling the backups properly (i.e., invoices, receipts, lien waivers, etc.).
• Maintain and update Schedules of Values (SOVs) for accurate project billing from subcontractors or suppliers.
• Handle the management and filing of all invoices, ensuring they are accurate and processed in a timely manner.
• Manage and categorize expenses to maintain accurate financial records and reporting.
• Reconcile accounts and assist with financial closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards specific to the construction industry.
• Assist in tax preparation and filing, including managing W9, W2, and other tax-related documents.
• Liaise with project managers to align financial reporting with project budgets, proper allocations, and projections.
• Use QuickBooks for construction financial management.
• Collaborate with external auditors to validate financial practices and records during audits.
• Analyze financial data (on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis) and prepare detailed reports to support decision-making for construction projects.
• Draft and send emails to counterparties regarding invoicing and other financials updates/questions.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA is preferred.
• Strong experience in financial analysis or accounting, with at least three years of experience in construction accounting.
• Expert-level MS Excel and QuickBooks experience/knowledge is required, preferably within a construction context.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial principles applicable to construction.
• Exceptional analytical skills and precision in financial management.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and remote work skills.
• Extreme attention to detail.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
