Job Summary:

The Commis I is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation/packaging of dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency. This role requires strong knowledge of kitchen operations and the ability to supervise and guide junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, portion standards, and quality requirements.

• Ensure all food leaving the kitchen meets standard taste, texture, and presentation guidelines.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned section at all times.

• Support the Shift Lead/Manager in daily kitchen operations and workflow.

• Check ingredients for freshness, proper storage, and quality before use.

• Follow proper portion control procedures and help minimize food wastage.

• Train, support, and guide Commis II, III, and other kitchen staff.

• Coordinate with other kitchen sections and service teams to ensure smooth operations.

• Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines.

• Ensure kitchen equipment is cleaned, maintained, and operated safely.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as Commis II or in a similar culinary role.

• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.

• High focus on food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency.

• Good communication, teamwork, and time management skills.

• Culinary diploma or certification preferred.

• Ability to work in fast-paced kitchen environments and flexible shifts.
