Chief Information Security Officer

Role: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Location: Hybrid (Bangalore) / Remote (with travel as needed)

Arcana is hiring a CISO to own cybersecurity end-to-end strategy, execution, operations, and culture. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for designing and scaling a global security program across our data, and platform ecosystem.

We’re looking for a leader who can move fast, think strategically, and operate hands-on when required. You will work closely with engineering, product, risk, compliance, and executive leadership to ensure Arcana remains resilient against evolving threats.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Own cybersecurity outcomes globally, including risk posture, resilience, and regulatory readiness, with accountability at the executive and board level.
• Define the security roadmap aligned with Arcana’s business strategy, growth plans, and risk appetite, and ensure execution with measurable results.
• Build and scale security programs across engineering, product, and infrastructure while overseeing SOC operations, threat intelligence, and the full incident response lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with relevant global regulations and frameworks (GDPR, ISO27001, SOC2, MiCA, FATF, AML/KYC).
• Drive proactive security initiatives including red teaming, threat hunting, vulnerability research, and automation to reduce incident detection and response time.
• Design and maintain secure architecture across hybrid and cloud environments with strong data governance, encryption, and DLP controls.
• Manage vendor and third-party security assessments and make strategic build-vs-buy decisions for tooling and capability development.
• Define and mature escalation processes, executive communication, and regulatory reporting during high-severity events.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performance global security team and ensure security enables — not slows — innovation and delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of cybersecurity leadership experience; prior CISO/Deputy CISO experience preferred.
• Experience in fintech, or regulated financial environments.
• Strong technical depth in incident response, cloud security, security architecture, and offensive security.
• Hands-on, execution-driven leadership style not just governance.
• Familiarity with threat modeling, modern infrastructure, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of global regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly, influence senior stakeholders, and lead distributed teams across time zones.
