Job Description

A GST filing job involves ensuring a company's timely and accurate compliance with Goods and Services Tax (GST) regulations, including preparing and filing monthly and annual returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9), reconciling tax data, managing Input Tax Credit (ITC), handling tax payments, assisting with audits, and staying updated on legislative changes. Key responsibilities also include maintaining accurate GST records, liaising with authorities, and providing guidance on GST matters to internal departments.  Key Responsibilities Return Filing: Prepare, verify, and file various GST returns such as GSTR-1 (outward supplies) and GSTR-3B (monthly summary), as well as annual returns (GSTR-9/9C).  Reconciliation: Perform reconciliation of GST returns with accounting records (e.g., GSTR-3B vs. GSTR-2B) to identify and correct discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.  Input Tax Credit (ITC): Manage and reconcile ITC claims and adjustments to maximize benefits and ensure compliance with GST laws.  Compliance: Ensure adherence to all GST laws and regulations, staying updated on any changes and addressing compliance issues promptly.  Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all GST-related documents, including invoices, returns, and transaction details.  Audit Support: Assist with internal and external GST audits by providing necessary documentation and information to tax authorities and auditors.  Tax Payments: Ensure timely and accurate payment of GST liabilities and other applicable charges.  Liaison with Authorities: Coordinate with tax authorities, respond to notices and queries, and facilitate any required inspections.  Advisory and Training: Provide guidance on GST matters to internal departments and conduct training sessions for staff on GST compliance.  Skills and Qualifications Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (like Tally), Microsoft Excel, and the GSTN portal.  Knowledge: Strong understanding of GST laws, regulations, and indirect tax principles.  Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, good communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.  Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is often required
