Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Category Management / Vendor Management

Industry: Luxury Jewellery
Location: Open to discussion
Experience: 11+ Years
Reporting To: Category Head / Operations Director

Job Objective

To manage category planning, product lifecycle, vendor sourcing, and inventory control across the jewellery supply chain, while ensuring profitability, customer satisfaction, and efficient store operations.

Key Responsibilities

Category & Merchandising Management

  • Drive profitability by maintaining net margins and controlling P&L for over 5000+ product variants.
  • Conduct pricing analysis to ensure competitive positioning and target margin achievement.
  • Plan and prepare new collections annually, coordinating with design and merchandising teams to ensure market relevance.
  • Monitor stock planning and execute replenishment strategies for high-performing SKUs.
  • Manage product availability, indent planning, and stock vs. sale alignment.

Store Operations & Customer Engagement

  • Handle store merchandising, visual displays, and customer service feedback.
  • Coordinate catalogue shoots, ad campaigns, and creative content development.
  • Track customer orders, meet committed delivery timelines, and resolve escalations to improve satisfaction.
  • Implement store activity plans, discount policies, and sales boosters to liquidate dead stock.

Inventory & Supply Chain Control

  • Oversee fast-moving product replenishment, ensuring delivery within 2 days.
  • Analyze sales dips, identify root causes, and deploy corrective measures.
  • Align product assortment and marketing strategies based on consumer demand and market trends.

Vendor Management & Outsourcing (Previous Role)

  • Lead outsourcing operations at jewellery SEZ manufacturing unit for cost and tax efficiency.
  • Manage international vendor coordination, including customs, delivery, and clearances.
  • Evaluate and negotiate with vendors for diamond and gold studded items, ensuring best rates and zero rejection output.
  • Monitor vendor performance, set KPIs, and decide "Vendor of the Quarter".
  • Develop production lines and quality frameworks to ensure high productivity and product standards.
  • Handle inventory disposal, recall, and resale planning strategies to optimize asset usage.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Jewellery Category Management, Sourcing, and Vendor Development
  • Proven expertise in new product introduction, inventory control, store ops, and BTL planning
  • Strong analytical and P&L management skills
  • Excellent communication, team leadership, and stakeholder management abilities

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹850,000.00 - ₹1,700,000.00 per year
