Job Summary:

The Captain in the gaming and entertainment industry is responsible for leading and supervising the front-of-house service team to ensure the highest quality of service for guests. This role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating with kitchen staff and management, and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise, train, and motivate front-of-house staff including waiters, bartenders, and hosts.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to the service team to ensure efficient operation.
  • Conduct regular briefings to update staff on any changes, promotions, or special events.
  • Customer Service:
  • Ensure guests receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Address any guest complaints or concerns immediately and effectively.
  • Monitor dining areas to ensure optimal guest satisfaction and service quality.
  • Operational Management:
  • Oversee the setup and breakdown of service areas.
  • Ensure all service areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
  • Quality Control:
  • Monitor the presentation and quality of food and beverages served to guests.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and maintain service standards as per the company's guidelines.
  • Coordination and Communication:
  • Liaise with management to discuss and resolve service-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist in planning and executing special events and promotions.
  • Inventory and Supplies:
  • Monitor inventory levels of service-related supplies and place orders as necessary.
  • Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and report any repairs or replacements needed.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or entertainment industry.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
