The Captain is responsible for supervising and coordinating the daily operations of the restaurant or outlet to ensure high standards of service, customer satisfaction, and smooth team coordination. The role involves leading the service staff, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive and personalized service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of service staff during shifts.
  • Ensure the dining area is clean, organized, and properly set up before service.
  • Greet guests warmly and ensure they are seated comfortably.
  • Take and confirm guest orders accurately and ensure timely service of food and beverages.
  • Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and service staff.
  • Handle guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Check tables for proper settings, cleanliness, and service quality.
  • Ensure adherence to all service standards, hygiene, and safety protocols.
  • Train, guide, and motivate service team members to deliver excellent guest service.
  • Assist in preparing daily sales reports and monitoring inventory levels of service-related items.
  • Promote menu items, specials, and upsell products to maximize revenue.
  • Coordinate with the bartender, stewarding, and kitchen teams for seamless operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Requirements & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Captain / Senior Steward / Team Leader in Food & Beverage service.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Customer-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit.

Qualification:

  • Diploma or Degree in Hotel Management / F&B Service or equivalent.
  • Minimum 24 years of experience in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel.
