Buyer - O&M

Purpose/Objective

The Buyer - Operations & Maintenance role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless procurement of CAPEX and MRO materials, aligning with the operational excellence and sustainability goals of the Cement business unit. This position supports the strategic intent of optimizing vendor management, price negotiations, and procurement processes using advanced tools like SAP and ARIBA. The role contributes to the Adani Group’s broader mission of building a sustainable future by ensuring cost-effective and timely procurement to support the Cement business unit’s operational and green energy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Manage procurement activities for CAPEX and MRO materials across 24 integrated cement manufacturing plants and 22 grinding units. - Develop and execute RFQs (Request for Quotations) to ensure competitive pricing and quality standards. - Conduct vendor management activities, including onboarding, performance evaluation, and relationship building. - Negotiate pricing and contract terms to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency. - Utilize SAP and ARIBA platforms for procurement operations, ensuring data accuracy and process compliance. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with operational and sustainability goals. - Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities. - Ensure timely delivery of materials to support uninterrupted plant operations. - Support the Cement business unit’s green energy initiatives by sourcing sustainable and eco-friendly materials. - Maintain procurement documentation and compliance with internal policies and procedures. Years & Type of Experience - 3+ years of experience in procurement roles within large-scale manufacturing or cement operations. - Demonstrated ability to manage procurement processes for CAPEX and MRO materials. Domain Expertise - In-depth knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management in the cement industry. - Familiarity with CAPEX and MRO procurement strategies. - Understanding of sustainability practices in procurement, aligning with green energy initiatives. Digital & Operational Tools - Proficiency in SAP for procurement and inventory management. - Expertise in ARIBA for supplier collaboration and RFQ processes. - Familiarity with digital tools for market analysis and vendor performance tracking. Leadership Capabilities - Strong negotiation skills to drive cost savings and favorable contract terms. - Ability to build and maintain strategic vendor relationships. - Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve procurement goals. - Proactive problem-solving to address procurement challenges and ensure operational continuity.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, specifically in CAPEX and MRO within the manufacturing or cement industry. - Proven expertise in vendor management and price negotiation. - Hands-on experience with SAP and ARIBA platforms. Educational Background - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering. - Preferred: MBA or equivalent specialization in Procurement or Operations Management.
