Job Description: Business Manager Executive Search (Middle to Senior Roles, India)

Position Overview

The Business Manager in an executive search firm is responsible for driving business growth, managing client relationships, and overseeing the end-to-end recruitment process for middle to senior management roles. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership, and a deep understanding of the executive search landscape in India.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development

    • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, industry knowledge, and existing contacts.
    • Proactively initiate contact with potential clients and build a robust client pipeline.
    • Sign new client contracts, including exclusive and retainer-based agreements.
    • Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients to facilitate repeat business.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management

    • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their strategic hiring needs, organizational culture, and role requirements.
    • Assist clients in defining job descriptions and ideal candidate profiles for middle and senior management roles.
    • Provide market intelligence, compensation benchmarking, and talent mapping insights.
  • Search Execution & Delivery

    • Lead and manage the full recruitment lifecycle: sourcing, screening, evaluating, and presenting candidates for middle and senior roles.
    • Work with internal research teams to create and refine candidate shortlists.
    • Conduct in-depth candidate assessments, including leadership evaluation and cultural fit analysis.
    • Ensure a high level of confidentiality and discretion throughout the search process.
  • Team Leadership

    • Mentor and guide junior consultants and researchers.
    • Organize training sessions to upskill team members and drive operational efficiency.
  • Operational Excellence

    • Prepare and manage budgets for search assignments.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure targets are met.
    • Oversee the preparation of client reports, presentations, and candidate documentation.

  • Proven track record in business development and successful placement of senior professionals.
