BDP is…

BDP is an integrated design practice, with an interdisciplinary design ethos. We bring together the talents from many disciplines to create places for people to inhabit and be inspired by and nurtured over generations. The dynamic of the 21st century and the momentum of an international world directs us to create places that are meaningful, harmonise our polyglot cities, regenerate communities, create sustainable living environments and stimulate human interaction. The culture of BDP reflects its founding ethos as an integration and interaction of designers, whose collective design efforts will improve the lives of others and through that, our own lives. We design many different kinds of environments, from buildings to learn in, to live in, to spend leisure time, to trade and create commerce, and for well-being and recovery.

Design integrity

At the heart of endeavour is the pursuit of design integrity, a core value that informs every aspect of who we are, what we do, and how we do it. Design integrity symbolises the clarity of our purpose – that of the highly skilled conception, creation, and execution of plans for great buildings and spaces; and the benefits that flow to our clients – through a product that embodies soundness, completeness and unity. Today, the elements in the design of a building are increasingly inter-related. User focused design, expressive structure, holistic energy conscious solutions and connected design and procurement methods dictate that the disciplines of architecture, design and engineering are seamless. Such is the BDP ambition and approach.

Our aims

Our ambition is simple – to be the best at everything we do, to offer outstanding design, the most intelligent solutions and excellence in every aspect of client service. Our aim is to be an irresistible practice, irresistible to our clients and the talented people who want to be part of BDP, and to be world leaders in the inter-disciplinary design of buildings and places. Places that grace their environment, create real value for our clients and respond to the needs of those who use them everyday. We want to be a place where the principles of teamwork, collaboration, innovation and creativity thrive. Harnessing our collective ethos, the spirit of BDP is about making places for people. Our structure and governance as a global network of federated city studios creates design hubs that are connected to the cities, regions and communities they serve.

As part of the Tokio Marine Group, we fuse our passion for architecture and engineering with user-centred design and large-scale infrastructure projects to deliver world-class solutions for better, more prosperous places.
