Billing Engineer

The Billing Mechanical Engineer is responsible for preparing, verifying, and managing project bills related to fabrication, erection, and installation of mechanical systems, structures, and equipment. The role ensures accurate measurement, documentation, and certification of work done in coordination with project execution, planning, and accounts teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review client and subcontractor bills for fabrication, erection, and commissioning works.
• Take quantitative measurements from drawings and site to verify work progress.
• Prepare work completion certificates, RA (Running Account) bills, and final bills as per contract terms.
• Coordinate with project, site, and accounts teams to ensure billing accuracy and timely submission.
• Maintain record of material consumption, fabrication output, and erection progress.
• Check and verify BOQ (Bill of Quantities) against actual site work and drawings.
• Assist in cost estimation, variation claims, and change order documentation.
• Ensure all billing documentation (invoices, inspection reports, measurement sheets, etc.) are complete and compliant with project requirements.
• Liaise with clients and consultants for bill verification and approval.
• Support project managers in budget tracking and cost control.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical fabrication, erection, and piping systems.
• Expertise in measurement techniques, quantity surveying, and BOQ preparation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and ERP/software tools for billing.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and as-built documentation.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

Educational Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience Required:

• 3 to 8 years of experience in billing and estimation in mechanical fabrication and erection projects (industrial, plant, or infrastructure sectors).

• EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Firms
• Power Plants, Refineries, Steel Plants, or Manufacturing Projects

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
