About the role
Position Title: Battery Digital Twin Engineer
Position Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled Battery Modelling Engineer to develop advanced electrochemical and system-level models to support the design, optimization, and validation of battery systems for electric vehicles. The role involves creating equivalent circuit and aging models, building digital twins, conducting cell testing, and collaborating closely with cross-functional simulation and design teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Develop equivalent circuit models for electrochemical devices (batteries and capacitors) across various chemistries (e.g., NMC, LFP).

Conduct battery cell characterization and testing using multiple experimental methodologies to generate accurate model parameters.

Build Battery ROM (Reduced-Order Models) for electrical and thermal behavior using 1D simulation tools (e.g., AME-SIM, MATLAB, GT-Power).

Experience in computer simulation using 1D/ lumped parameter approach., Experience in hand/ design calculation for various system/sub-systems in an automobile using first principles and fundamentals of mechanical/thermal/ electrical systems.

Design and implement aging models using data-driven, empirical or physics-based techniques; perform warranty trade-off analysis (cost vs. life vs. distance).

Develop battery digital twins, including high-fidelity models and AI/ML-based real-time models, and enable deployment on cloud platforms.

Develop automation scripts and GUI-based applications for test data processing and analysis using Python
Functional Competencies:

Experience in computer simulation to model mechanical-thermal/ electro-thermal systems.

In-depth knowledge of battery fundamentals and modelling methodologies

Fundamentals of thermal engineering
