Bar Manager

Job Summary

Curry & Hops is a modern microbrewery and restaurant introducing six in-house craft beers on tap, seasonal brews, and a vibrant food and bar program. We are looking for a high-energy, experienced Bar Manager who has successfully managed fast-paced brewery and bar environments. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep knowledge of mixology, craft beer, and brewery operations, capable of elevating guest experience and driving beverage excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Bar & Brewery Operations

• Oversee and manage daily bar operations in a high-volume, fast-paced brewery environment.
• Ensure smooth dispensing, proper handling, and quality control of in-house craft beers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar layout that supports quick service.
• Coordinate with the Brew Master for beer quality, keg rotation, seasonal releases, and tap maintenance.
• Manage ordering, receiving, and inventory of spirits, beers, bar ingredients, and glassware.

2. Mixology & Beverage Innovation

• Create, design, and maintain a modern cocktail menu using advanced mixology techniques.
• Craft signature cocktails that complement Curry & Hops’ brewery identity.
• Train bartenders in mixology, beer knowledge, pour standards, and craft cocktail execution.
• Monitor beverage trends and introduce innovative offerings to keep the bar dynamic and exciting.

3. Staff Leadership & Service Quality

• Lead, train, and supervise bartenders and bar support staff, ensuring consistent high-quality service.
• Build a performance-driven and customer-focused bar culture.
• Conduct daily briefings, schedule staff, and assign responsibilities based on operational demand.
• Maintain professional, calm leadership during peak hours and high-volume events.

4. Guest Experience & Interaction

• Engage with guests to recommend beers, cocktails, and pairings.
• Handle guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Ensure the bar creates a lively, welcoming atmosphere aligned with the Curry & Hops brand.

5. Financial Management & Reporting

• Track beverage costs, stock variance, wastage, and profitability.
• Ensure accurate billing, POS operations, and daily bar cash reconciliation.
• Prepare weekly reports on bar performance, sales mix, and inventory consumption.
• Implement cost-control measures while preserving product quality.

6. Compliance, Safety & Hygiene

• Ensure all bar and brewery operations comply with state excise regulations.
• Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and safety protocols across the bar.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance training for all staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience managing a fast-paced brewery bar or high-volume craft bar.
• Strong knowledge of craft beers, brewing basics, keg systems, and beer dispensing.
• Professional mixology skills with experience creating modern, innovative cocktails.
• Proven leadership skills and ability to manage large crowds and peak operations.
• Excellent communication, guest engagement, and team-building abilities.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and high-demand shifts.
• Certification in bartending or mixology (preferred but not mandatory).
