Job Purpose: Backend Engineer with strong hands-on experience in database design, optimization, and management. The ideal candidate should be proficient in PostgreSQL, SQL, and backend development, ensuring efficient data handling and integration with applications. Duties & Responsibilities: · Develop and maintain backend services with a strong focus on database performance and scalability . · Design, optimize, and manage PostgreSQL databases for high-performance applications. · Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and indexing strategies . · Ensure data integrity, security, and backup/recovery strategies for databases. · Work with AWS services such as RDS (PostgreSQL), S3, and Lambda for database operations. · Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs for data access and integration. · Collaborate with frontend and DevOps teams for seamless application deployment. · Utilize Bitbucket for version control and code collaboration. Skills & Qualifications Required Skills and Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in backend development with a focus on databases . Expertise in PostgreSQL, SQL , and database performance optimization. Strong backend development experience using Node.js, Python, or Java . Experience in query optimization, indexing, and stored procedures . Familiarity with Bitbucket for version control and collaboration. Experience working with AWS database services (RDS, DynamoDB, etc.) . Knowledge of API development and backend frameworks Preferred Skills: Experience in NoSQL databases like MongoDB or DynamoDB. Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven systems. Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment. Understanding of serverless frameworks in AWS. Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering • Self-motivated with exceptional time management • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Excellent troubleshooting skills • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate with team members and clients at all levels of an organization • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products Direct Reports: None Background Check : Employment will be dependent on candidate successfully passing a background check.
