Our analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth
Role Summary/Purpose
AVP, Analytics role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH). The role involves developing analytical solutions in partnership with US Analytics teams across marketing planning, measurement and optimization, customer analytics, targeting & segmentation, forecasting, etc. areas to identify growth opportunities , optimize business strategies and derive actionable insights across customer journey.
Essential Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted business consultant and advisor by understanding business needs, translating them into data-driven KPIs, dashboards, and actionable insights, and making recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead and deliver advanced analytics and solutions from problem discovery through execution to solve critical business challenges.
- Influence decision-making with data-backed analyses and measurable business impact.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with US and IAH teams to promote the team’s value and drive collaboration.
- Provide hands-on leadership for complex, high-impact projects.
- Foster a culture of innovation, learning, and sustainability within the team.
- Manage people-related responsibilities, including team planning, hiring, performance reviews, and career development.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in SQL and SAS programming, including working with complex and large datasets, and leveraging advanced algorithms.
- At least 2 years of experience managing and developing talent with a focus on constructive feedback and coaching.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with strong data analysis, storytelling, and dashboarding skills; experience with Tableau is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences including senior business leaders and technical teams.
- Proven ability to solve complex technical and interpersonal challenges independently.
- Experience managing multiple initiatives in ambiguous and complex environments.
- Solid understanding of targeting, segmentation, and campaign measurement.
- Good knowledge of the credit card industry and associated business dynamics.
Desired Skills & Knowledge
- Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS and SQL.
- Proven experience in storytelling and presenting insights effectively to senior leaders.
- Hands-on experience with open-source analytics tools such as R and Python (a plus).
- Experience with modeling, forecasting, and advanced statistical techniques (preferred).
- Familiarity with financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities specific to the credit card business.
Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative fields (distance learning not eligible) with 6+ years of hands-on analytics experience, ORIn lieu of a degree, 8+ years of relevant experience in analytics.
Work Timings
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
