AutoCAD Engineer Location: Bhayander Department: Design / Engineering Reports To: Design Head / Project Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Engineer to join our design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying 2D and 3D drawings for chemical process equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, tanks, and skid-based systems. The role requires close coordination with the production, quality, and project management teams to ensure design accuracy and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD (and optionally SolidWorks or Inventor) for chemical processing equipment. Interpret and convert P&IDs, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and client specifications into manufacturing-ready drawings. Collaborate with the design and engineering team to ensure accuracy and functionality in all designs. Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, manufacturing updates, or customer feedback. Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, and company-specific standards for pressure equipment and mechanical design. Support project engineers during equipment fabrication, assembly, and testing by providing necessary drawings and documentation. Maintain drawing records, version control, and drawing log databases. Coordinate with procurement and suppliers by providing BOMs and dimensional references when required. Participate in design review meetings and contribute to design optimization and cost-reduction strategies. Requirements: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2–5 years of experience as a Design/Drafting Engineer, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, or process equipment industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D) ; familiarity with SolidWorks , Inventor , or similar CAD tools is a plus. Sound knowledge of fabrication techniques , welding , and sheet metal components used in pressure equipment. Understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing processes. Basic understanding of process design documents like PFDs and P&IDs. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ASME Section VIII, TEMA, or API standards. Familiarity with ERP systems for BOM integration.
