Job Description

Role Description

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and maintain security master, index, and pricing data on our global data‑management platform to fulfill stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform regular sanity checks, validations, and reconciliations on security, index, and price datasets.
  • Monitor and apply quality control to daily data feeds coming from various internal and external sources.
  • Review exception and missing price reports, maintain manual pricing spreadsheets, and research suitable prices for illiquid or hard-to-value instruments.
  • Manually input prices from verified sources when automated feeds are unavailable or insufficient.
  • Recalculate Private Equity valuations following triggering events (e.g. drawdowns, distributions).
  • Monitor team mailboxes and ensure stakeholder data queries are triaged and resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • Assist the Line Manager in delivering project work, including gathering requirements, execution, and tracking.
  • Test change requests and new system releases, validating that modifications behave as expected (regression checks, UAT, etc.).
  • Maintain and support automation scripts, bots, or “robots” used by the team to streamline repetitive workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent PC literacy, especially Excel (formulas, data manipulation), Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication — you will interface with multiple stakeholder groups, including clients and internal teams.
  • Basic understanding of securities data (equities, fixed income, derivatives), index structures, and pricing mechanics.

Desirable / Advantageous Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance, business, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Excel extending beyond basics — use of formulas, macros, VBA, Power Query, or pivot tables.
  • Some experience (or exposure) working on data-intensive projects (data sourcing, migration, validation, implementation).
  • Familiarity with SQL, ETL concepts, or data management tools is a plus.
  • Prior exposure to financial data operations (pricing, index, instrument maintenance) would be beneficial.
Personal Attributes & Behavioral Traits
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to quality and delivery.
  • Strong analytical, numerical ability and attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritise workload under pressure, and work independently when needed.
  • Collaborative in team settings, with strong communication and stakeholder service orientation.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and occasional flexible working hours when needed.
