What you will do


The Associate Director, Performance and Compliance ensures effective oversight of pharmacovigilance (PV) system performance through compliance and quality monitoring of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs), aggregate reports, and Emerging Safety/Significant Safety Issues (ESI/SSI). This includes managing safety report exchange, overseeing vendor and partner compliance, leading oversight forums, and maintaining compliance documentation to ensure regulatory obligations are consistently met.

They lead and support investigations into emerging compliance trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives across PV processes. By partnering with internal stakeholders such as Medical Safety and BRQC, they ensure that non-compliance issues are thoroughly addressed and that operational oversight is supported by meaningful, data-driven metrics.

The role includes managing a team of performance and compliance professionals, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring effective execution of compliance processes. The Associate Director also sets clear objectives, monitors team performance, and supports career development to build a high-performing, compliance-focused team.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement processes to ensure effective oversight of PV system performance and compliance, including:

  • Compliance monitoring and trend analysis of global HA reporting of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs), aggregate reports and emerging safety Issues/Significant Safety Issues (ESI/SSI)

  • Oversight of safety report exchange with PV agreement partners

  • Provision of independent compliance oversight for PV vendors and alliance partners who conduct activities in areas of PV submissions and/or other relevant PV related functions.

  • Design and implementation of appropriate metrics and thresholds to measure report quality, submission timeliness and compliance performance

  • Ensuring monitoring, assessment and trend analysis of ICSRs quality and certain aggregate reports

  • Leading Compliance and Performance oversight forums

  • Development and storage of compliance deviation data.

  • Oversee vendor activities for Performance and Compliance activities

  • Partner with Kenvue BioResearch Quality and Compliance (BRQC) to ensure non-compliance impacting Medical Safety is effectively investigated and fully addressed

Shape and Lead PV Compliance and Performance improvements

  • Lead or support investigations into emerging quality or compliance trends

  • Identify areas for improvement to ensure meaningful metrics to support operational oversight and in partnership with the medical safety and R&D functions

  • Led projects related to improvements of PV Compliance and Process Improvements

Lead a team of performance and compliance professionals

  • Manage the day-to-day team activities and oversee the execution of the performance and compliance processes

  • Set appropriate Objectives and Key Results, overseeing the performance and guiding employees in career development

What we are looking for

Qualifications:

BA/BS in Life Sciences or Health related fields (preferably Pharmacist).

Years of Related Experience;

Minimum 6 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical industry compliance related and/or safety related role required. Experience in quality and compliance monitoring is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Include any required computer skills, certifications, licenses, languages, etc.

Fluent in English: Proficiency in any additional languages is a benefit. Computer literate with knowledge of relevant IT Systems.

An understanding of the industry principles of Product Vigilance is required. Experience with PV case management activities (case processing and reporting) preferred. Knowledge of specific PV tools and systems is a benefit.

Proven ability to organize workflow activities and have a good sense of prioritization. The ability to lead global work streams, drive teams to make decisions and manage and resolve issues independently.

The ability to maintain open relationships within the organization and with external partners as needed. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
