Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and analytical leader to head the Sell Side for one of our highest engagement categories: Sports, Footwear, and Athleisure.

As the Associate Director, you will own the P&L, drive revenue growth, and shape the consumer journey on the platform. You will be responsible for orchestrating the "Demand" side of the businessensuring the right products get the right visibility at the right price. You will lead a high-performing team of 6+ members and collaborate extensively with central marketing, product, and revenue teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. P&L Ownership & Revenue Growth

  • Revenue Management: Own the top-line and bottom-line growth for the category. Define monthly, quarterly, and annual operating plans.
  • Growth Hacking: Drive consistent Year-on-Year (YoY) growth by balancing Consumer Acquisition (new users) and Retention (repeat purchase frequency).
  • Pricing Strategy: Develop and execute dynamic pricing strategies. Balance competitiveness with gross margin targets, managing discounting and burning strategies effectively.

2. On-Platform Merchandising & Customer Experience

  • Visual Merchandising: Oversee the store-front management. Ensure high-quality cataloging, curation, and visual appeal to maximize conversion rates.
  • Inventory Visibility: Optimize product ranking logic and discovery mechanisms to ensure the right assortment is visible to the right customer segments.
  • Events & Activations: Lead the planning and execution of large-scale platform events (like EORS, Big Fashion Festival) specifically for the Sports & Footwear category.

3. Traffic & Marketing Strategy

  • Traffic Growth: Strategize to increase both Organic (SEO, direct) and Inorganic (Paid, CRM, Push Notifications) traffic to the category pages.
  • Marketing Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between the category and the Central Marketing Team. Co-create off-platform activation plans, influencer marketing strategies, and brand campaigns to drive category awareness.

4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6+ category managers and analysts. Foster a high-performance culture and manage succession planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Buy Side (Sourcing/Brand partnerships), Supply Chain, Product, and Tech teams to remove bottlenecks and improve customer NPS.

Key Requirements

  • Education: MBA from a Tier-1 institute is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 8-12 years of total experience with significant exposure to E-commerce, Retail, or FMCG sectors.
  • Functional Skills:
    • Strong background in P&L management and Revenue planning.
    • Deep understanding of Digital Marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, CTR, ROAS).
    • Expertise in Merchandising and Consumer Behavior analysis.
  • Leadership: Proven track record of managing mid-sized teams (5+ members).

Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to synthesize complex data into actionable business strategies. High proficiency in Excel/SQL is a plus.
  • Customer Obsession: A deep understanding of the sneaker culture, athleisure trends, and the sports retail landscape.
  • Execution Excellence: Bias for action and ability to work in a high-paced, high reward environment.
