It provides the most appropriate products across advisory, capital markets, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), risk management and transaction banking to both the C-Suite and Treasurer.
Position Description
The Ratings Advisory Group (RAG) is a team of professionals with global resources within IB&CM which provides ratings and capital structuring advice for clients and bankers throughout the firm on a global basis. The group spends considerable time marketing services to both investment-grade and non-investment grade clients and assisting internal banking teams (including Debt & Equity capital markets, Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors, etc.) with significant value-added advice to clients (e.g. for M&A, Recapitalizations) in order to provide optimal ratings-based solutions to their needs. Primary activity includes performing detailed credit analysis with a view to assign indicative credit ratings to be included in pitches to management, advising senior management on strategy and tactics and preparing management teams for presentations to the rating agencies. The work also involves advising management on the likely impact on ratings, following any corporate actions.

Role Responsibilities
RAG is looking for front-line positions which will involve full disclosure of client information and full integration with the EMEA ratings team. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with the EMEA team on rating indications, financial models, rating agency presentations and pitches to clients. Candidates will analyze financial models in order to form a rating opinion and perform analysis that will assist the team in providing debt capacity levels to clients and bankers for a variety of rating outcomes.Candidates will also need to create and review formal Word and PowerPoint presentations, create financial models and review company materials, research, etc. to understand clients’ business position relative to comparables.Responsibilities will include:
- Responding to queries for the team which could include: indicative ratings opinions based upon clients" qualitative strengths (i.e. business position and franchise) and financial metrics;
- Responding to request for proposals (RfPs) and drafting pitches for new business
- Execution of ratings mandate
- Sharing opinion of level of debt capacity for clients at certain rating parameters
- Giving a summary view on the ratings (and notching) impact from certain capital structure alternatives
- Analyzing the impact on existing ratings of strategic decisions (e.g. M&A, Recapitalizations, etc.)
- Comparable analysis with relevant peers
The position will also entail modeling work with primary emphasis on analyzing and making judgments on existing models provided by banking groups throughout Deutsche Bank.
Qualifications / Skills
An ideal candidate with qualification (in finance, accounting or economics and / or in a quantitative field) with experience in financial markets is a must. You should have a good understanding of general credit and corporate finance theory, with strong presentation and modeling skills. You should be organized and responsible to deal with a large work flow and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) is a must.You demonstrate commitment & motivation for self development and growth with a desire to work in a fast paced, challenging environment.
