Sage Journals


This includes driving subscriptions (traditional and bundled), building and nurturing strong client relationships, and developing effective sales strategies. The role also involves forecasting, performance analysis, and identifying new business opportunities to achieve company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual

    revenue and sales targets

    for Sage Journals across

    Social Sciences, STM, and Medical segments

    in the assigned regions.
  • Drive sales through

    renewals, retrievals, and new customer acquisition

    via phone, email, and virtual interactions.
  • Develop and implement

    sales plans and strategies

    to explore new market segments or strengthen existing ones.
  • Engage with

    Deemed and Private Universities, and Private Engineering Colleges

    , offering tailored journal collections and building long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by ensuring timely communication, follow-ups, and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and share

    weekly/monthly sales reports

    with the line manager, including updates on promotions, secured orders, collections, pending payments, and upcoming plans.
  • Conduct

    user awareness programs

    in collaboration with the training team to increase journal usage among researchers, faculty, and students.
  • Support administrative functions including upkeep of office assets, and ensure maintenance of IT hardware and software systems.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by senior management.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree

    (preferably in Business, Marketing, or a related field).
  • 3–5 years of inside sales experience

    , preferably in

    academic publishing or journal sales

    .
  • Strong

    communication, negotiation, and relationship-building

    skills.
  • Proven ability to

    meet targets

    and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency in

    Microsoft Office tools

    (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Multilingual ability preferred –

    English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu

    .
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
