Assistant Professor – Finance, Accounting & Control

Role Overview

The Assistant Professor of Finance, Accounting & Control will be a dynamic and committed academician responsible for delivering high-impact teaching, producing quality research, and contributing to the academic and institutional development of Muthoot Business School. This role involves educating and mentoring students in management accounting, financial management, financial analysis, corporate finance, corporate governance, and control systems, preparing them for leadership roles in finance and business strategy. This role demands a blend of academic rigor, industry relevance, and a passion for experiential learning and technology integration.

Key Responsibilities

·      Design, develop, and deliver engaging courses in Finance, Accounting, and Control

·      Integrate contemporary industry practices, case studies, and financial technologies (e.g., FinTech, Blockchain, AI in Finance) into pedagogy

·      Develop/revise courses aligned with MBS's vision of a "Neo-Tech Global Corporate Business School"

·      Employ innovative teaching methods, including simulations, financial modeling, and live projects

·      Publish scholarly research in ABDC/Scopus-indexed journals in areas such as corporate finance, financial reporting, and governance

·      Foster collaborations with industry professionals for guest lectures, internships, placements, and joint research

·      Mentor students, serve on academic committees, and contribute to accreditations and quality assurance initiatives

Qualifications

·      PhD in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines

·      Passion for innovative, learner-centric teaching

Experience:

·      1–3 years of postgraduate teaching experience (MBA/PGDM level)

·      Industry experience in finance, accounting, auditing, or consulting is desirable

·      International exposure in teaching or research is highly valued

Skills & Competencies:

·      Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, interpersonal, and classroom engagement skills

·      Ability to simplify complex financial concepts for diverse learners

·      Proficiency in financial modeling tools, accounting software, and analytics platforms
