Education Qualification: B. Tech/BE Mechanical Engineering

Industry Specific: Heavy Fabrication

Experience: Minimum 8 years’ experience handling steel material management in

manufacturing plant have steel as a major raw material. Strong analytical skills for

OEE calculation and process optimization and able to study/read the nesting of steel

plates in relevant software’s and able to prepare report of steel consumption from

the nesting / drawings / other reports of steels.

Key Roles & Responsibilities: Steel Material Management (R.M. Store Activities)

Steel Purchase verification

 Verification of all steel purchases as per P.O. / LO.I in terms of quantity and quality

and coordinating with all the concern person to short out all the issue related to

incoming verification.

 Calculating theoretical weight of all incoming steel purchases and comparison

statement in totally for the difference of theoretical weight and actual weight shipment

wise.

 Coordinating with quality team for quality check and timely feedback

 Timely intimation of all discrepancies related to incoming steel purchase and

circulation to all concern person and closer of the same timely as per set process.

Storage of all type of steels in proper way in Steel Yard

 Proper storage, material identification of steel as per grade, size, and dimension.

 Preparation of non-moving steel inventory details month wise and sending the same to

all concern person with age of such inventory.

 Ensuring all steel incoming material entries passed on real time basis in ERP after

proper verification of incoming material.

 Maintaining of cut part separate location within the steel yard with accurate details in

ERP. Follow up to get back all cut parts back from all other associated productions

shops.

 Implement safe loading and unloading practices to prevent damage to material and

ensure worker safety.

Issuance of all type of steels with reference to machine no under production from Steel

Yard

 Ensure that all steel issuance happens as per set process from steel yard based on

approved requisitions slips with link to production order number through ERP.

 Ensuring all steel issuance entries passed in ERP on real time basis from main steel

yard with ref to machine number under production and steel issue not exceed more than

the budgeted qty per machine in the ERP.

 Ensuring special approval taken if the consumption exceed more than the Budgeted qty

 Ensuring 100% reconciliation of steel stock ERP system stock Vs actual stock in the

steel yard.

 Issue steel to the fabrication and machining departments as per job order or BOM (Bill

of Materials).

 Track steel consumption for each job/project and minimize scrap or extra use

 Check that nesting plans are followed correctly to maximize sheet utilization and reduce

scrap.

 Monitoring nesting execution and ensure maximum material utilization with minimal

scrap.

 Fixing of Max & Min. sheet dimension for scrap.

 Monitoring of all steel scrapes generation entries in the ERP in proper way and

consumption entries of the same.

 Supervision of all type of scrap loading and unloading from inhouse shops.

Preparation of all statutory and management report of all outward job work of steel

 Maintain all steel outward job work records in ERP and get the balance verification

from the outward job worker on monthly basis

 Maintain all outward job work steel details RGP Wise in ERP records in line with ITC-

4 report.

 Taking machine, no under production and nesting details before issuance of material

for outward job work

 Taking work order copy from PPC before sending the material for outward job worker

 Checking of steel weight at every stage of incoming of material and sending steel

outside the factory from inhouse weighbridge and from theoretical weight mechanism

 Get verified all incoming steel job work material from quality team and also checking

at store level. Such material should be matched as per nesting

 Ensuring all outward job work In/Out entries should be supported with E Way bill if

• the amount exceed more than specified limit.
