Job Purpose The role is responsible for sourcing, procuring, and managing the supply of spare parts, equipment, and services required for vessel maintenance and operations. The role involves coordination with vessel managers, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality and regulatory standards. Responsibilities 1. Procurement & Vendor Management Source and procure spare parts, consumables, and technical equipment for vessels. Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and high-quality materials. Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers. 2. Order Processing & Coordination Process purchase requisitions from vessels and fleet management. Ensure accurate and timely placement, tracking, and follow-up of purchase orders. Coordinate with logistics teams to manage global delivery schedules at various ports. 3. Budget & Cost Control Support the monitoring and control of procurement budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety. Ensure accurate supplier invoicing and documentation for timely payments. Follow up on invoice clearance and payment processing. 4. Compliance & Documentation Ensure procurement activities align with internal policies and maritime regulations. Maintain accurate documentation for purchases, contracts, and vendor dealings. Support audits related to procurement and inventory. 5. Technical Support & Communication Collaborate with vessel superintendents and technical teams to understand purchasing needs. Provide viable alternatives for unavailable parts or delayed shipments. Keep vessels updated on order status and expected delivery timelines. Qualifications Essential: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent. Desirable: B.E. Mechanical / Marine Engineering Degree in Business Administration or related field Age Essential: 35 – 40 years Desirable: 30 – 35 years Experience Essential: 5–7 years in marine procurement. Familiarity with ship spare parts, marine equipment, and supply chain operations. Desirable: 7+ years in marine technical purchasing or a similar role. Advanced understanding of marine logistics and international procurement. Proposed Remuneration INR: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
