As an Assistant Manager – Marketplace Sales, you will lead a team of Sales Executives handling either international or domestic destinations on the TripXL platform. You will be responsible for driving destination-specific growth, achieving sales targets through assigned travel agents, and nurturing your team’s performance. This role combines sales leadership, CRM expertise, agent management, and a data-driven approach to grow our marketplace effectively.
Own and drive sales performance for assigned domestic or international destinations.
Achieve monthly revenue and conversion targets at the cluster/destination level.
Ensure high Conversion Ratios for all destinations handled.
Monitor and improve the Quotation-to-Closure rate across assigned destinations.
Track hot funnel percentage to ensure a healthy pipeline of potential conversions.
Ensure timely and consistent AH-wise (Agent Handler) follow-up adherence using reports and scorecards.
Identify and reduce missed or delayed follow-ups at the destination level.
Conduct regular 1:1 feedback and coaching sessions with team members to support performance
improvement.
Identify and actively support underperforming team members, with action plans and follow-up on progress.
Plan and execute daily team huddles to align goals, resolve blockers, and track execution.
Submit timely daily/weekly performance reports with key highlights, challenges, and next steps.
Track and report the number of action plans created for bottom performers and measure their outcomes.
Drive destination-level growth through data-backed strategies and improved agent performance.
Maintain discipline, accountability, and skill development within the team to ensure consistent performance.
Support CRM hygiene, lead pipeline management, and ensure data accuracy for tracking and reporting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (pre-sales, ops, product) to address gaps and boost performance.
Graduate in any stream; MBA preferred.
4–6 years of experience in sales - preferably in travel, BPO, or marketplace platforms.
Proven experience managing a sales team (8–10 members minimum).
Strong verbal and written communication in English and Hindi.
Highly data-driven with experience working on CRMs and sales dashboards.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and manage deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with a solution-focused mindset.
Familiarity with sales funnels, performance dashboards, and reporting tools like Google Sheets, Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
Prior experience in the travel, tourism, or hospitality industry, especially in a B2C or B2B2C environment
Ability to coach and upskill sales teams, with a track record of improving underperforming team members
Understanding of lead qualification frameworks (BANT, CHAMP, etc.) and consultative selling techniques
Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Comfortable in a startup culture – agile, accountable, self-motivated, and open to wearing multiple hats
Passionate about travel, destinations, and creating high-quality experiences for customers and agents alike
