Job Description:

To lead civil engineering and construction activities for large-scale industrial projects (plants, factories, utilities, and infrastructure), ensuring timely execution, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Execution:

1. Plan, organize, and oversee civil works for industrial facilities including foundations, structures, utilities, roads, drainage, and allied infrastructure.

2. Review and approve GFC drawings, construction methodologies, and BOQs.

3. Ensure project milestones are met within budget and schedule.

Industrial Project Expertise:

1. Manage construction of machine foundations, heavy equipment erections, silo structures, chimneys, cooling towers, water reservoirs, and utility buildings.

2. Coordinate civil interface with mechanical, electrical, piping, and instrumentation teams.

3. Ensure compliance with industrial safety norms and statutory requirements.

Team & Contractor Management:

1. Lead site engineers, supervisors, and QA/QC staff.

2. Monitor performance of contractors and sub-contractors; resolve technical/site issues.

3. Negotiate with vendors and contractors for optimized delivery.

Quality, Safety & Compliance:

1. Implement quality assurance processes as per IS, ASTM, and industrial codes.

2. Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.

3. Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.

Budgeting & Cost Control:

1. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and resource plans for civil works.

2. Track project costs, verify contractor bills, and ensure financial discipline.

3. Optimize material procurement and prevent wastage.

Stakeholder & Client Coordination:

1. Coordinate with consultants, design engineers, OEMs, and statutory authorities.

2. Provide progress reports and presentations to senior management.

3. Address client concerns and maintain effective communication.

Strategic & Organizational Contribution:

1. Drive continuous improvement in construction practices.

2. Implement innovative techniques to reduce cost and improve efficiency.

3. Support expansion projects, modernization, and maintenance activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.Tech & Construction Management preferred).

15+ years of experience in civil construction of industrial projects (steel, cement, power, petrochemical, manufacturing plants, etc.).

Strong knowledge of industrial civil works (heavy foundations, RCC structures, industrial roads, utilities).

Expertise in project management tools (MS Project/Primavera) and AutoCAD.

Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.

Reporting To:

Head of Industrial Projects/Managing Director

Location:

Project Site / Corporate Office (with frequent site visits)
