Assistant General Manager - Accounts & Taxation (Real Estate)

Purpose of the Role

The role is responsible for optimizing cash flows, ensuring seamless ERP operations, finalizing accounts, and delivering timely and accurate management reporting. It aims to uphold financial SOPs, identify and highlight deviations, and ensure efficient payment processes while contributing to the organization’s financial stability and strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

ERP & Systems Management

• Identify, evaluate, finalize, and implement suitable ERP systems.
• Ensure smooth day-to-day ERP operations and drive process improvements.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.
• Share budget utilization reports and ensure departmental adherence.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Finalize annual financial statements and the Balance Sheet.
• Prepare and present management reports, including accounting and tax updates.
• Develop financial models as required.

Taxation & Compliance

• Oversee tax filings, returns, assessments, and dispute resolutions.
• Manage the appointment and coordination of Tax Auditors.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.

Accounts Payable & Payments

• Manage vendor payments with accuracy, timeliness, and zero deviations.
• Optimize working capital and oversee petty cash management.
• Streamline payment processes for enhanced efficiency.

Banking & Fund Management

• Liaise with banks for financial arrangements, instruments, and cash flow optimization.
• Ensure timely fund planning and arrangement of finances.

Project & Feasibility Assessments

• Prepare financial feasibility reports for new projects.
• Manage documentation and coordinate with consultants on project-related statutory requirements.

Asset Management & Insurance

• Oversee asset management processes.
• Manage project insurance and ensure proper coverage.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)

• Ensure 100% compliance with statutory tax return filing timelines.
• Maintain strict adherence to budget controls and share utilization reports on time.
• Achieve timely and compliant vendor payments with zero process deviations.
• Ensure effective fund planning and timely arrangement of financial resources.
• Conduct regular financial presentations to key stakeholders and achieve targeted satisfaction scores.
• Deliver annual compliance training to 100% of the finance team.

Educational Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience

• 12–14 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 7-8 years in the Real Estate industry.

Functional Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements as per accounting standards.
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws with hands-on experience in tax planning and compliance.
• Strong cash flow management and working capital optimization skills.
• Experience in internal/external audits and regulatory compliance.
• Strong risk management and mitigation planning capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage finance teams.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
