We are looking for an energetic and goal-oriented
Area Sales Manager (ASM)
to oversee and drive
channel and retail sales
within a designated territory. The ASM will be responsible for planning and executing sales strategies, developing channel partner relationships, expanding retail presence, and meeting revenue goals. This role is critical in ensuring that the company's products are successfully positioned and sold through a network of distributors, dealers, and retail stores.
Key Responsibilities:
Channel Sales Management
- Develop and manage a strong network of distributors, dealers, and resellers across the assigned area.
- Ensure regular and timely supply of products to all channel partners, resolving any distribution issues proactively.
- Drive partner engagement by organizing product training, promotional campaigns, and loyalty initiatives.
- Monitor partner performance and recommend measures to optimize productivity and sales growth.
Retail Sales Development
- Expand retail footprint by onboarding new outlets and ensuring strong visibility of the product in stores.
- Build relationships with retail store owners, staff, and floor sales executives to ensure front-line push.
- Execute in-store promotions, branding activities, and seasonal campaigns.
- Ensure timely replenishment of stock at the retail level to meet customer demand.
Sales Strategy & Target Achievement
- Develop and execute area sales plans in alignment with regional and company-wide objectives.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets by product line and territory.
- Track market dynamics, competitor activities, and consumer trends to adjust sales strategy accordingly.
- Identify new business opportunities and drive conversion in emerging markets within the assigned geography.
Reporting & Analysis
- Maintain accurate records of sales, collections, stock movements, and competitor activities.
- Provide timely reports on channel performance, retail expansion, market challenges, and sales forecasting.
- Coordinate with the supply chain and finance teams to manage product availability and order-to-cash cycle.
Team Leadership & Development (if applicable)
- Guide and support Sales Executives or Field Officers within the area.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular team reviews to ensure motivation and accountability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in channel sales and retail sales, preferably in FMCG, consumer goods, or retail-driven sectors.
- Strong understanding of distribution network models and retail operations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in using MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and sales CRM tools.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned area
