Key responsibilities 1. Conceptualization & Design Development Create innovative design concepts that align with client briefs, site context, and budget. Develop schematic designs, mood boards, and conceptual visualizations. Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and presentation materials using tools like AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or Lumion. Integrate sustainability and energy efficiency into design solutions. Research new materials, design trends, and construction technologies to enhance project outcomes. 2. Client Interaction & Coordination Conduct meetings with clients to understand requirements, preferences, and functional needs. Present design concepts, working drawings, and material selections for approvals. Address client feedback and incorporate revisions effectively. Build strong professional relationships through consistent communication and delivery. 3. Technical Drawings & Documentation Prepare detailed working drawings, GFC (Good for Construction) drawings, and BOQs. Coordinate with structural, MEP, and landscape consultants to ensure design integrity. Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups. Ensure all drawings meet statutory requirements, codes, and local by-laws. 4. Site Coordination & Execution Conduct periodic site visits to ensure design intent is being followed. Resolve on-site design or technical challenges in collaboration with the project manager and site engineers. Verify site measurements and assist in the preparation of as-built drawings. Ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications during execution. 5. Project Management & Administration Assist in project scheduling, milestone planning, and progress tracking. Prepare cost estimates, project budgets, and material procurement lists. Support billing and BOQ preparation by coordinating with the project and accounts team. Maintain documentation of design iterations, correspondence, and approvals. 6. Compliance & Approvals Prepare and submit drawings for municipal or statutory approvals. Liaise with government and local authorities to obtain building permits and NOCs. Ensure all designs comply with building codes, fire norms, and environmental regulations. 7. Team Leadership & Collaboration Promote a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability within the design team.
